The 'Alexandre' Pelargonium: A New Variety Made Possible by Phytoclone

In 2017, a natural mutation of a pelargonium at Jardins André Carbonneau led to a unique new plant - unfortunately infected with a virus. Thanks to our expertise in plant tissue culture, Phytoclone successfully eliminated the virus using a meristem, making it possible to multiply healthy plants.

After several years of work, the 'Alexandre' Pelargonium is now distributed by Jardins André Carbonneau - and has even become the official flower of the City of Louiseville.

A great project that reflects our commitment to horticultural innovation in Quebec.
